Parish Church of San Michele in Montecuccoli. Stained glass windows

In the back wall of the central chapel of the medieval parish church of San Michele in Montecuccoli, we can admire two dazzling polychrome stained glass windows depicting Saint John the Baptist and Saint Michael the Archangel, created by the Manifattura Chini in the second half of the 1920s.

The solemn and hieratic figure of the Baptist follows a model devised by Galileo with the addition, in the lower part of the coat of arms, of the Archbishop of Florence Alfonso Maria Mistrangelo, who led the diocese until 1930.

In the dynamic and lively “Image of the Archangel Michael,” instead, probably reworked in some parts, we can admire youthful dynamism and decorative richness.
